The vineyard Quinta de Brunheda is situated in the heart of the Douro region, which was demarcated by the Marquis de Pombal in 1756, thus making it the oldest wine region in Portugal.
The company started to make Douro DOC wines in 1999, under its own label "Casa de Corca", and has already achieved recognition and distinction for outstanding quality. The climate is extreme, with bitterly cold winters and summer temperatures often reaching 45 degrees C. This climate associated with the poor schistous soil, create the ideal conditions for the growing of outstanding quality grapes.
Casa de Corca wines are produced from the traditional red varieties of Douro region: TourigaNacional, Touriga Franca, Souzao, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Cao and others in old vineyards. The grapes are hand-picked and the fermentation process occurs in temperature controlled stainless steels tanks. The maturation of wines is carried out in new French oak barrels.
