Clos Mesorah: 40% of 95 years old Carignan, 30% Grenache and 30% Syrah. Reserve with 18 months aging in French oak barrel from Allier with fine toasted barrel, has a very long aging potential. Elegant and unique with a very good and rich perfumed nose of ripe but controlled blackberry, spicy, black cherry, cheesy notes, lovely blueberry, and floral notes. The mouth is rich with concentrated and layered fruit, well integrating mouth coating tannin, along with a massive attack of spice, buttered herbs, and good cedar that fills the mouth and makes for a rich mouth-feel. The finish is long and spicy with rich bakers chocolate, vanilla, ripe black and blue fruit, with fruit and butterscotch lingering long on the palate after the wine is gone.
Well-balanced acidity and silky tannins; this full wine is rich and concentrated with an elegant, complex and long finish.
Pair with sweet potatoes and steak frites or duck.
