The Hoshen Vineyard is located on the eastern slopes of Mount Meron on the outskirts of Moshav Safsufa. The vineyard was planted in the year 2000 and is one of the best vineyards in the Dalton portfolio. The vineyard benefits from its unique position and proximity to the mountain, which provides ample shade and cooler growing conditions for the vines during the summer.
The vineyard is at 770 meters above sea level and is planted on stony red clay soil. The site is planted facing east with the rows planted on a north south axis, overlooking Ramat Dalton and the settlements of Bar Yochai and Or Haganuz.
The symbol for this vineyard is a polished crystal as there is an abundance of quartz geodes in the vineyard. These are small boulder like stones which, when broken open, reveal a heart of quartz crystals.
The grapes were picked in the last week of September.
During fermentation the grape cap was pumped over several times a day to increase the depth of colour and levels of extraction of the wine in the
gentlest way possible. Before completing fermentation the wine was pressed out, and the free run wine was separated and used to make this
wine. The wine was aged in second and third use French-oak barrels for thirteen months.
Alcohol: 14.5 %

This wine is focused and concentrated with a lovely floral nose and a freshness on the palate. A rich complex jammy fruit character harmoniously balanced by earthier notes of tobacco, leather and liquorice it is a rich powerful wine with soft integrated tannins giving a spicy velvety feel and a long finish.
